Claycots considers a healthy diet as an essential pre-requisite to learning and to building a sound foundation for good health in later life. We also consider that the practical education of taking a meal together with others should provide opportunities for improving the social skills and physical development of pupils and familiarise them with the widest possible range of foods.
Children who eat better, learn better.
Our school meals are prepared, cooked and served under our new in-house service called Enigma Hospitality.
Following the Governments statutory requirements, Enigma Hospitality will offer your child a variety of balanced meal choices each lunchtime. For £2.30, your child will be able to choose from:
- at least three main meals with the opportunity to add items from our salad bar.
- freshly baked bread.
- a selection of desserts
- semi-skimmed milk or water
- Claycots will aim to provide:
- Fairtrade products
- MSC Sustainable Fish
- Meat from farms which satisfy UK animal welfare standards
- Eggs from free range hens
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal – meals are completely free! If your child is in Year 3 or above, and you receive certain benefits, you may also be entitled to free school meals
