Claycots has a Designated Safeguarding Lead and several Deputy Safeguarding Leads so there is always someone for staff, children or parents to talk to if they are worried.

Safeguarding Training

We have an ongoing programme of training for our staff members including the following:

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead training – DSL and deputies

  • Basic Safeguarding training and awareness – all staff

  • Safer Recruitment Training – all staff involved in shortlisting and interviewing

  • Prevent – all teaching staff

  • Designated LAC teacher training – designated teachers/SENCOs

  • Specific aspects of safeguarding (eg FGM, CSE) – targeted staff

  • Online Safety – parents and children

  • First aid training/paediatric first aid training – selected staff/all EYFS staff.
